# Set my Auto priority

Save or clear your own Auto priority in an organisation. It applies to every chat and assistant whose rules let you choose. While a rule decides the priority for you, saving a preset is refused with `409 AUTO_MODEL_CHOICE_LOCKED` and nothing is written; clearing it (`null`) is always allowed. Saving the value you already have writes nothing. The answer has the same shape as [Get my Auto priority](/docs/api-reference/auto-model/get-my-choice). ## Authentication

Requires authentication (Bearer token or `x-api-key`) and membership of the organisation. Changes only the caller's own choice. Requires the Auto model to be switched on for the organisation.

#### Query Parameters

**`organization_id`** string optional

The organisation (`org_`); default the current one (the `X-Organization-Id` header, or the token's organisation). With none, `422 ORGANIZATION_ID_REQUIRED`.

#### Request Body

**`preset`** string required

`balanced`, `faster`, `lower_cost` or `best_quality`; `null` clears your choice. `custom` is for admins' rules only and is refused here.

## Returns

Returns `200 OK` with `choice`, `can_choose`, `effective_preset`, `set_by`, `locked_by`, `locked_reason` and `assistant_locks`, as [Get my Auto priority](/docs/api-reference/auto-model/get-my-choice) describes.
