# Delete an Auto model rule

Remove a department's or an assistant's Auto model rule, or reset the organisation's rule to the platform default. The organisation's rule is never deleted: it is reset to empty settings, so everything inherits from the platform default. Deleting a scope that has no rule changes nothing and still answers `200 OK`. The response is the scope's rule afterwards. See [Auto Model](/docs/documentation/core-concepts/auto-model).

## Authentication

Requires authentication (Bearer token or `x-api-key`). Organisation and department rules need the `manage_users` capability; an assistant's rule is also open to that assistant's editors. Requires the Auto model to be switched on for the organisation.

#### Path Parameters

**`organization_id`** string required

The organisation (`org_` prefix).

**`scope_type`** string required

`organization`, `department` or `assistant`.

**`scope_id`** string required

The organisation id, a department id (`dept_`) or an assistant id (`asst_`) of this organisation.

## Returns

Returns `200 OK` with the scope's [Auto model rule object](/docs/api-reference/objects/auto-model-rule-object) after the change: `exists: false` for a removed department or assistant rule, `exists: true` with empty `settings` for the organisation.
