# Get the Auto model option catalogue

Return what a client needs to draw Auto's choices: the four presets with their labels, descriptions and weights, the "Custom" label, the five thinking-effort levels and the default preset — in display order and in the caller's language. Read it instead of holding a copy in the client, so a new preset or a weight change needs no client release. See [Auto Model](/docs/documentation/core-concepts/auto-model).

The answer changes only with a release; it may be cached for five minutes (`Cache-Control`, `ETag`) and varies by language (`Content-Language`, `Vary: Accept-Language`).

## Authentication

Requires authentication (Bearer token or `x-api-key`). Any member of the current organisation (the `X-Organization-Id` header, or the token's organisation) may read it; a caller who is not a member of that organisation receives `403 ORGANIZATION_ACCESS_DENIED`. Requires the Auto model to be switched on for that organisation (`404 AUTO_MODEL_NOT_ENABLED` otherwise).

## Returns

Returns `200 OK` with:

**`presets`** array — In display order. Each: `key` (`balanced`, `faster`, `lower_cost`, `best_quality`), `label`, `description` and `weights` (`quality`, `speed`, `cost`, adding up to 1).

**`custom`** object — `key` (`custom`) and `label`; an admin-only choice that sets the weights directly.

**`efforts`** array — The five thinking-effort levels in order, each `key` (`off`, `low`, `medium`, `high`, `max`) and `label`.

**`default_preset`** string — The preset that applies when no rule or person sets one.
